CCNA Security

Course Overview

The CCNA Security course provides a next step for individuals who want to enhance their CCENT-level skill set and help meet the growing demand for network security professionals. The CCNA Security curriculum provides an introduction to the core security concepts and skills needed for the installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network devices to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices.

By the end of the course, students will be prepared to:

  • Understand network security principles as well as the tools and configurations available.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to design, implement, and support network security.
  • Apply for entry-level jobs as network security professionals.
  • Take the Cisco CCNA Security Certification exam.

CCNA Security is a hands-on, career-oriented course with an emphasis on practical experience to help students develop specialized security skills to advance their careers.

Requirements

CCNA Security can be delivered as an independent curriculum or integrated into a broader course of study.

CCNA R&S: Introd to Networks and CCNA R&S: Routing & Switching Essentials or higher experience

Certification and Careers

The CCNA Security curriculum prepares students for entry-level security career opportunities and the Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) certification exam (210-260) leading to the Cisco CCNA Security Certification.
